Advanced Premium Woodwork Bench

Our new in-house designed Advanced Premium Woodwork Bench is the result of a complete rethink of the traditional woodworking bench, addressing the long-standing limitations found in conventional designs.

While the bench top itself remains unchanged, we have completely re-engineered the supporting frame, replacing the traditional timber construction with a heavy-duty 80 × 80 mm tubular steel frame.

This redesign allows for straight legs positioned further apart, maximising the usable space between them. As a result, students have significantly more room when seated side by side. This improvement is clearly visible in the images below, with the distance between students increased by 320 mm.

The steel frame also eliminates the need for traditional mortice and tenon joints, which can loosen over time as timber naturally dries, often leading to instability or “wobble.” For this reason, we are confident in offering a lifetime warranty on the bench frame.

In addition, the overall bench height has been increased by 50 mm, providing greater leg clearance beneath the bench and allowing students to comfortably use standard 600 mm high stools.

The traditional timber bench stop has been replaced with a flush-mounted cast alloy bench stop, offering improved durability and functionality. The bench top itself is manufactured from 40 mm thick solid beech, ensuring strength, longevity, and a high-quality working surface
